This one is a no-brainer. The Jaguars don’t have a franchise quarterback and they can pick one with the second overall selection. Justin Fields has been one of the best signal-callers in college football the last two seasons. He can become Jacksonville’s quarterback of the future the moment they turn in their card with the name of the Buckeyes quarterback in it.
Fields recently had a three-interception performance against Indiana, but other than that, he’s been both efficient and productive in 2020. In four games this season, he’s 90-of-113 for 1,208 yards, 13 touchdowns, and three interceptions. In 2019, he threw 41 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Last season, this Jacksonville Jaguars team traded cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for two first-round selections, one this year and the other one in 2021. They used the first one on defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson and they could use the second one on Texas left tackle Sam Cosmi.
Cam Robinson is set to become a free agent in 2021, but the cost of re-signing him may not be proportional to his on-field performance, so the Jaguars could draft Cosmi to take his place. The Longhorns left tackle is an intriguing prospect with plenty of upside.
