No. 3 trade the Jacksonville Jaguars can make for TE Darren Waller

There are several reasons the Raiders went 6-11 last season. One of the biggest ones was their inability to protect quarterback Derek Carr. More often than not, their offensive line struggle to control the line of scrimmage and they might be looking to add one or two starters in the offseason.

Kolton Miller is firmly entrenched at left tackle and left guard Dylan Parham was selected to the 2022 Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie team. However, Las Vegas need upgrades at center and the right side of their offensive line. Enter Ben Bartch.

A fourth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2020, Bartch became an internet sensation in the pre-draft process due to his affinity for drinking smoothies before working out. The former St. John Johnny made only one start in his rookie campaign but logged 11 in 2021.

Bartch got off to a strong start in 2022, starting five games before suffering a knee injury that cut his season short. He had made strides before he got hurt and would most likely return to the starting lineup in 2023. However, he’s slated to become a free agent in 2024 and if he isn’t part of the Jaguars’ long-term plans, trading him this offseason might be the best course of action.

As a matter of fact, the Jaguars could find a potential replacement for Bartch in this year’s draft. James Fragoza of Pro Football Network has Jacksonville taking Florida offensive guard O’Cyrus Torrence in his latest NFL mock draft. While Bartch has shown upside, landing both O’ Torrence and Darren Waller is a tempting proposition.
