Jaguars player that has offered almost nothing No. 4 – OT Walker Little

Here’s another member of the Jaguars’ 2021 draft class that seemed poised to have a big role this season but has hardly seen the field. Offensive tackle Walker Little earned praise from both Urban Meyer and offensive line coach George Warhop during the offseason.

In particular, Warhop told the media that Little was as or more prepared than any first or second-round pick he’s ever coached. He later double down on his comments and told the local media he was pleased with the Stanford product’s development.

Little had a solid training camp but struggled during the preseason and was inactive for the first five games of the 2021 season. He finally made his debut against the Miami Dolphins in Week 6. He only played one offensive snap, but that accounts for something, right? Maybe this was the team’s plan from the start, let him make the transition to the pros instead of rushing him. It doesn’t make it any less disappointing but this approach makes sense.

The Jags are 1-6 and Walker’s presence in the starting lineup might not make much of a difference. Moreover, he hadn’t played in a football game since 2019, when he tore his ACL. Left tackle Cam Robinson is set to become a free agent in 2022, so it’s possible that the team is grooming Little to take his place next year. Even if that’s the case, it would be nice to see what the former Cardinal can offer on the field.
