Jaguars player that has offered almost nothing No. 5 – TE Jacob Hollister

This is arguably one of the Jaguars’ most disappointing additions in 2021. After all, Andre Cisco and Walker Little are rookies while Jacob Hollister is a vested veteran. What makes this frustrating is that the tight end room lacked someone that could get deep, and he was thought to be that player.

The Wyoming product signed with the Buffalo Bills early this year but was released during the last round of roster cuts. In retrospect, this should have given the Jaguars a pause but they went ahead and signed him just before the start of the 2021 season.

This writer legitimate thought that Hollister was going to become a key contributor on the Jaguars’ offense but boy was he wrong. The tight end was inactive for the first two games of the season and when he was given a chance, he squandered it. Against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3, he dropped a pass that became an interception.

Not long after, the team’s brass traded for Dan Arnold and Hollister returned to the bench. He did have a touchdown reception against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5 but other than that, he’s been a non-factor.

Heading into Week 9, things don’t look particularly bright for Hollister. He was inactive against the Seahawks and it wouldn’t be surprising if that’s the case once again against his old team in Week 9.
