This analyst could make the jump to the Jacksonville Jaguars front office.

Louis Riddick joined ESPN as a front office insider and was promoted to Monday Night Football analyst in August this year. Although making the switch from the commentator booth to front office executive doesn’t happen often, it isn’t uncommon either and other former NFL analysts have successfully made the transition.

John Lynch became the San Francisco 49ers general manager in2017 after spending eight years as a color commentator for Fox. Mike Mayock made a similar career move and joined the Las Vegas Raiders on December 31, 2018, after working for the NFL Network for 14 years.

One difference between these two and Riddick is that the latter has been part of a front office before whereas Mayock and Lynch had no prior experience working at a team’s personnel department.

Riddick was a Pro Scout for the Washington Football Team from 2001 to 2004 and was later promoted to Director of Pro Personnel in 2005. He left Washington and joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 and worked his way up to Director of pro personnel once again in 2013.

Wherever he’s been, Riddick has had success and his name has surfaced in different general manager searches in the last few years. The fact organizations keep inquiring about his services speaks well about his work with the Eagles and Washington.
