1. Which of their players are the Jacksonville Jaguars going to re-sign?

This past offseason, the Jaguars refrained from making meaningful additions to their roster other than linebacker Joe Schobert. Things may change in 2021, as the organization looks poised to rebuild in the offseason.

This Jacksonville team will have ten draft selections and tentatively $83.99 million in cap space at their disposal. At this moment, it’s uncertain how aggressive they will be in free agency, but before they bring in other players, they need to make decisions about re-signing their own.

Left tackle Cam Robinson, cornerback D.J. Hayden, wide receiver Keelan Cole, cornerback Sidney Jones are all set to become free agents after this season and the team needs to decide whom they will bring back and whom they will let test their market.

Robinson is a solid left tackle but he’s not a Pro Bowler. Since competent left tackles are in high demand, he may command premium compensation in the market and the ‘Jags’ may not be willing to pay premium compensation for a good-not-great player.

Cole has already said he would rather ‘be a Jaguar than a Falcon or a bird or some [expletive], and he’s a veteran voice in the locker room, so the team may decide to bring him back and be the leader of their young wide receiver corps.

Things will be more interesting when it comes to Jones and Hayden. Will the ‘Jags’ bring back one, both, neither? Jones seized a starting job but is currently dealing with an Achilles. Hayden was solid on the slot last year but he has struggled in 2020.

The Jaguars have to make sure they re-sign the correct contributors without hindering their future ability to acquire free agents in 2021.
