Jaguars Rumors: 3 defensive free agents still out there to consider
The Jacksonville Jaguars are heading into a season in which they think they can win big. They lost to the eventual Super Bowl champions by seven in the second round last year.
Now, they think they can take that next step. It might not mean a Super Bowl win but a step towards becoming that would be nice.
The offense of this team is very good. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is outstanding and he has a tremendous cast of weapons around him.
Getting the defense to match that group is what this season is all about. If they can play even league-average defense while this offense explodes, the team could do amazing things.
There are still some free agents on defense that the team can consider as training camp is about to begin. These three should be considered:
1. Jadeveon Clowney
Jadeveon Clowney would make a great addition to the Jaguars defense.
The Jacksonville Jaguars could use an upgrade at multiple positions. Even if it means just adding depth. Having someone like Jadeveon Clowney on the roster could really help them.
Of course, Clowney is a former number-one overall pick which means he has some skills. At 30 years old, he still has a ton to give as an edge rusher.
With some of the talent that the Jaguars do have on defense, Clowney might be able to thrive as a veteran pass rusher. Even if he just adds some extra fear to some of the quarterbacks he'd be facing, it would be worth it.
Clowney is still out there to be signed and the Jaguars may look really smart if they added him and he turned out to be a hit.
