3 Games on the 2023 Jaguars schedule the NFL must feature in primetime
No. 1 game on the Jaguars schedule that deserves a primetime slot: vs. Chiefs
This game had to make the list for several reason. First and foremost, the Jaguars had to chances to beat the Kansas City Chiefs last year and they came empty-handed both times. While both losses hurt, the second one, the Divisional Round of the Playoffs, stings way more. After all, the Chiefs advanced to the AFC Championship and the Jags were sent home.
Kansas City went on to win the Super Bowl and as the defending champion, they have a target on their back. Now, the Jaguars will have a shot at revenge. While there's a strong chance they'll run into the Chiefs once again in the playoffs in the regular season would be huge for the Jaguars. Not only would they prove they deserve to be in the conversation of the best teams in the NFL but it would give a huge boost to their morale: If they can beat the best of the best, they can do anything they set their sights on.
Both teams restocked their roster in the offseason. Besides poaching right tackle Jawaan Taylor from the Jaguars, the Chiefs added depth at several key positions. The Jaguars did something similar and instead of making a splash signing in free agency, they chose to bolster their depth on every position group.
The Chiefs have been one of the best teams in the league for a while but the Jags want to challenge them. Doing it in primetime would show everyone the kind of team they've become since the end of the 2021 season.
