3 dream trades the Jacksonville Jaguars should make before the NFL trade deadline
• They have lots of talent at several positions
• But they could still add more playmakers
• These 3 should be worth a look (and a call)
The Jacksonville Jaguars are 5-2 and riding a four-game winning streak after beating the New Orleans Saints in Week 7. While they have a few tough games remaining on their schedule, they should be able to keep racking up wins given how stacked their roster is.
Then again, the Jags aren't perfect and they could make upgrades to a few position groups or add difference-makers who can increase their chances of making the playoffs. In particular, they should consider pursuing these three players before this year's trade deadline.
No. 3 trade the Jacksonville Jaguars should attempt to make: Bilal Nichols, DL
The Jags have solid defensive line rotation. Folorunso Fatukasi has managed to stay healthy while Adam Gotsis and Jeremiah Ledbetter have done a good job of filling in for DaVon Hamilton, who's missed time with a non-football back injury. Also, Angelo Blackson who landed in Jacksonville before the 2023 season began has been a solid pickup.
Having said that, you can never have too many linemen and the Jaguars could benefit from adding veteran Bilal Nichols.
A fifth-round pick in the 2018 draft, Nichols was a productive player for the Chicago Bears, appearing in 60 games with 49 starts and registering 11 sacks and two forced fumbles. He hasn't been nearly as impactful since joining the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 but that could be the result of inadequate coaching or the current state of the team.
Either way, Nichols could benefit from a change of scenery. He's still flashing every now and then and Jaguars defensive line coach Brentson Buckner could help him find his stride once again.
