Another guy that could improve the interior of the Jaguars’ offensive line is Aaron Brewer. The left side of the line relied too heavily on Tyler Shatley after Ben Bartch following an injury to starter Ben Bartch.

Bartch was placed on Injured Reserve with a dislocated knee after the loss to the Houston Texans in Week 5. Even if Bartch is able to return to the lineup next year without any setbacks, quality depth is needed. If no other players were able to get Shatley out of the starting lineup, there’s then reason to believe that it’s time for someone else to come into the fold.

Shatley will be under contract for next year as well but he’s 31 years old right now. The Jaguars are looking for a place to build depth at a price that won’t break the bank. After going undrafted in 2020, Brewer signed with the Titans and has gone on to make 23 starts, 17 of them last season. He’s a restricted free agent and it wouldn’t be expensive to sign him if Tennesse doesn’t tender him.

Brewer is 25 and could virtually replace Shatley. He plays both left guard and center. If the team is looking to upgrade the positions this is the move to make. This would be the second contract of his career and it could be with a Jaguars team that is ascending to new heights.

The Titans have fired the offensive coordinator Todd Downing and offensive line coach Keith Carter. He would be starting over with a new position coach. He might be open to a change of scenery and a new contract in Jacksonville.
