1. Titans potential free agent the Jaguars should target in 2023

Teair Tart, DT/NT

There’s no doubt the defensive front area should be upgraded as well. There’s no reason to be pushed around like the Jaguars were in the divisional round. If the team wants to hand around with the top-tier teams they need to find someone to clog up the middle.

The Titans have proved to shut down some of the best offensive lines and one of their players could help the Jaguars do the same if he’s available in the offseason. Teair Tart is just 25 years old. After being drafted in 2020, he was on and off the Titans’ active roster in his rookie season but he’s started 26 games over the last two years. Just like Brewer, he’s a restricted free agent, so there’s a chance he will return to Tennessee.

But if he’s available, why not come to Jacksonville and prove yourself? The Jags get to play the Titans twice a year and could offer Tart the opportunity to show them he was worth the money. Players should love to come to a team that is spearheaded by a coach like Doug Pederson.

There are players that are requesting to try their hand in Jacksonville and not for the sole sake of a huge payday. The front office has a lot of contracts to take care of but these three players are young and could be looking for contracts that will be beneficial to both sides.

Final thoughts

Building up the interior of both lines with these three moves could improve the Jaguars’ long-term. Trent Baalke seems to be on the same page as Doug Pederson in wanting to re-sign a large number of their own free agents but they should also be able to add a few players in the offseason. Can the Jaguars’ brain trust keep the nucleus of the team intact while finding younger talent?
