4. The Jaguars will register 4 sacks, K’Lavon Chaisson will get one

The Jaguars’ defensive front struggled to apply pressure up front and get after the quarterback at the midpoint of the season. But they’ve rebounded in recent weeks and have had more success getting after the quarterback.

Even without defensive end Dawuane Smoot, who’s out for the year with an Achilles injury, Jacksonville should be able to bring down Texans quarterback Davis Mills a few times. Former first-round pick K’Lavon Chaisson will get more defensive snaps in lieu of Smoot’s absence and outside linebacker Travon Walker could potentially play in Week 17.

Expect Chaisson, along with defensive end Arden Key and outside linebacker Josh Allen, to rattle Mills and sack him four times Sunday.

3. The Jaguars O-Line won’t allow a single sack vs. the Texans

The Jaguars’ offensive line has done a good job of protecting Trevor Lawrence this season. They have gone six games without a sack this season and have given up just two over the last three weeks. On the other hand, the Texans have struggled to get after the quarterback and might get a hard time bringing Lawrence down in Week 17.

Veteran Jerry Hughes has become Houston’s best pass rusher, registering eight sacks in 2022. However, they don’t have anyone else who can consistently bring the heat. As a team, they’ve logged 35 sacks, not bad but not great either. The Jaguars should be able to keep them in check and keep Lawrence’s jersey clean.
