No. 2 trade the Jaguars should make: Kareem Hunt, RB

With James Robinson out of the picture, Travis Etienne is the undisputable No.1 running back on the Jaguars’ depth chart. While JaMycal Hasty should see his playing time increase in the upcoming weeks, he’s barely played this season, toting the rock five times for 69 yards with one touchdown, and 61 of those yards came in one carry against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6. So why not acquire a proven commodity?

Running back Kareem Hunt asked the Cleveland Browns to trade him before the start of the 2022 season but his request wasn’t granted. However, Cleveland has softened their stance and they’re reportedly listening to offers ahead of the deadline. Here’s where Trent Baalke needs to get in touch with Browns general manager Andrew Berry and ask how much they want for him.

Hunt was a third-round pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 but he was cut the following year after a video of him shoving a woman surfaced. But the Browns scooped him in 2019 and he’s gone on to appear in 39 games with nine starts for them. In that span, he’s racked up 385 carries for 1,668 yards with 16 touchdowns.

With Nick Chubb firmly entrenched as the starter in Cleveland, Hunt will continue to have a limited workload. And the truth is that at this point in his career, Hunt might be better suited for a complementary role rather than a feature one, which is the one he would get in Jacksonville behind Etienne.
