No. 2 Jaguars player who will turn heads in training camp: Travis Etienne

Travis Etienne, Running Back. 1. player. 52. . .

Running back James Robinson continues to make strides in his recovery from the torn ACL he suffered near the end of the 2021 campaign. However, expecting him to be ready for the preseason, let alone training camp isn’t realistic. In fact, there are no logical reasons the coaching staff should rush him back when they have a fully healthy Travis Etienne ready to roll.

After missing his rookie campaign with a Lisfranc Injury, E-T-N is back in the bold and ready to take on the role he was expected to have last year. In case you missed it, Urban Meyer envisioned the former Clemson Tiger as a potential dual-threat on offense and it’s easy to see why.

Back in college, Etienne hauled in 102 receptions for 1,155 yards and eight touchdowns. And although there was a transition period last year, he got better in the offseason. At the time, John Shipley of Jaguar Report noted that the running back was uncoverable against linebackers in one-on-one drills during practices.

Although the Jaguars will continue to monitor Etienne during the duration of training camp, he will probably have no limitations. In fact, the coaching staff will avoid overworking him by having Ryquell Armstead and Snoop Conner share the workload.

Etienne will probably get plenty of reps at wide receiver but offensive coordinator Press Taylor will surely try to design play tailored to the running back’s skill set. And with Robinson out, Etienne will have the chance to shine in training camp.
