No. 3 most winnable game on Jaguars schedule – Week 2 vs. Colts.

There haven’t been many reasons to celebrate for the Jaguars over the last ten years. One of them is that they haven’t lost a game to the Colts at TIAA Bank Field since 2014. Even though talking heads didn’t give them a chance last year, they kept the streak going in Week 18, putting an end to the eight-game skid they were riding.

The Colts have had a solid, low-key offseason, trading for Matt Ryan and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. Moreover, they drafted wide receiver Alec Pierce and offensive tackle Bernhard Raiman. All of them should go on to become key contributors right off the bat and help Indy go back to the playoffs after being knocked out by Jacksonville in 2021.

Ryan is a significant upgrade over Carson Wentz and Indy should make a legitimate push for the playoffs. However, the Jaguars’ improved defense should be able to stop Ryan. Also, Trevor Lawrence should have no trouble moving the ball against the Colts secondary.

The Jaguars will experience several bumps and bruises trying to learn how to win but they should be able to fend off the Colts in Week 2 and keep the streak alive for at least one more year. It may not be a blowout but winning early in the season should help this Jags team build confidence.
