No. 4 former Jaguars player without a team – Allen Robinson, WR.

Here’s the longest shot of this list but the NFL is full of plot twists and we should always expect the unexpected. Allen Robinson was supposed to be the top wide receiver available in free agency but he hasn’t joined a new club as of this writing. The fact that the Jaguars paid a premium for Christian Kirk may have unintentionally raised the market rate at the position and possibly affected contract negotiations for Allen Robinson and other wide receivers in free agency.

Robinson was supposed to fetch an annual average of $17 million and was a favorite to land in Jacksonville, according to several talking heads, including this writer, but it seems like talks about a potential reunion have cooled down. The fact that the team’s brass already invested plenty of resources in the position would make it difficult to pursue the former Nittany Lion.

The Jaguars still have some cap space left and if they really wanted to, they could sign Robinson. On the other hand, they have four selections in the first-round picks. They could use one of them to draft a wide receiver, and after adding Zay Jones and Christian Kirk in the last few days, signing Robinson may not be at the top of the team’s priorities.

Still, Robinson could come in and give the Jaguars’ receiver corps a significant boost right off the bat despite the fact that he’s coming off a down year.
