No. 3 Clemson Tiger the Jaguars can draft in 2022 – Andrew Booth Jr., CB.

Cornerback sits in the opposite spectrum of wide receiver for the Jaguars this offseason. Sure, the Jaguars could add depth but barring serious injury, Shaquill Griffin and Tyson Campbell should start in Week 1 of the 2022 season. Nevertheless, Andrew Booth Jr. could be too good to pass up in the second round.

Booth is one of the top prospects in this cornerback class and is a good bet to get selected in the first round. However, we should always expect the unexpected in the draft and the former Clemson standout could slide to the second round, where the Jaguars could take him. But why would they?

For starters, Booth has the weight and height to play in the NFL at 6’0″ and 200 pounds. He has long arms and “good burst out of his breaks“, according to Cory Giddins of Bleacher Report’s scouting department.

Giddins believes Booth has the right mindset to play the run but his tackling skills could use some work. Moreover, he thinks the cornerback needs to play in a mixed scheme that allows him to play both zone and man in order to enhance his strengths.

Booth sits at 26th on B/R’s big board and 21st on PFF’s. If there isn’t a wide receiver, tight end or offensive lineman the Jaguars like when they’re on the clock at 33rd, they should pull the trigger on Booth.
