No. 2 Clemson Tiger the Jaguars can draft in 2022 – Justyn Ross, WR.

You have probably heard more than a few times — especially if you check B&T often — that wide receiver is one of the Jaguars’ biggest roster needs this offseason, and drafting a wide receiver with the 33rd overall pick makes sense if they aren’t interested in pursuing someone like Odell Beckham Jr. or Amari Cooper in free agency.

While Purdue wide receiver David Bell makes sense at number 33 (if he’s available), so does former Trevor Lawrence’s teammate Justyn Ross. The Alabama native has dealt with injuries over the last two seasons. Back in 2020, he had surgery performed on a congenital fusion in his spine. He was back on the field last year and led the Tigers with 46 receptions for 514 yards and three touchdowns. However, he sustained a small fracture early in the season, played through it, and ended up getting surgery on it.

Nate Tice of Bleacher Report highlights Ross’ size, route-running ability, and hands in a scouting report. On the other hand, Tice thinks the wide receiver needs to work on expanding his route tree, which was rather limited at Clemson. He also believes his injury history could make some teams hesitant to pick him. Nevertheless, he sees him as a late first- or early second-round selection in this year’s draft.

Ross occupies the 27th spot on B/R’s big board and 63rd on Pro Football Focus’. Based on Tice’s assessment, it’s possible that he will be available when the Jags are on the clock in the second round.
