No. 3 Colt that could follow Eberflus to the Jaguars – Eric Fisher

The Jaguars have options when it comes to the left tackle situation. You could even say they have a burden-of-choice kind of situation at hand. They could re-sign Cam Robinson, who did a good job of protecting Trevor Lawrence in 2021. On the other hand, they can let the 2018 second-round product hit the open market, which would pave the way for Walker Little to start at left tackle.

Another alternative is to kick Little to the right side, select Alabama offensive tackle Evan Neal with the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and plug him in at left tackle. If the Jaguars’ front office doesn’t like any of those choices or are looking for an alternative, they can target Eric Fisher in free agency.

While Fisher has never been a top-tier left tackle, he’s carved a pretty good NFL career. The first overall pick in the 2013 draft has participated in 132 games with 128 starts and has earned a couple of Pro Bowl designations. Even though suffered an Achilles injury in the 2020 AFC Championship Game, he signed a one-year deal with the Colts last offseason and returned to action in Week 2. While he struggled at first (he wasn’t 100 percent), he got progressively better as the year went on.

Healthy once again, Fisher is set to hit the open market and cash in. Last year, he got a $7 million deal from Indy in 2021 and should be able to land a better one this time around. He’s ranked 34th in Pro Football Focus’ list of top 100 free agents in 2022 and is expected to sign a three-year contract worth $48 million with $31.5 million guaranteed.
