Here are three duds from the Jacksonville Jaguars Week 15 loss.

1. Laviska Shenault Jr., wide receiver.

Second-year wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. had a solid game, hauling four receptions for 39 yards and logging one carry for ten yards. He also put on display his tackle-breaking skills.  However, solid wasn’t enough and the Jaguars need better production out of Viska moving forward. Against the Texans, he had two costly drops and he could have moved the chains in both instances.

You could make the case the coaching staff hasn’t done a good job of developing Shenault but he also needs to make plays when his number is called, something he didn’t do Sunday.

2. Adam Gotsis, defensive lineman.

Defensive end Adam Gotsis has been on and off this season. He will shine in some games and disappear in others. In Week 15, he was flagged for illegal use of hands at the worst possible time. At the very beginning of the game, the Jaguars’ defense had forced the Texans to go three-and-out. However, Gotsis’ penalty turned out to be a costly one, as it granted Houston a fresh set of downs, which they used to put together a drive that wide receiver Brandin Cooks capped with a 22-yard reception.

3. Shaquill Griffin, cornerback.

Speaking of Brandin Cooks, the veteran wideout had a good game, catching seven receptions for 102 yards, along with two trips to the end zone. Cornerback Shaquill Griffin covered him for most of the game and struggled, giving up four receptions in five targets for 80 yards and one touchdown.

On the bright side, this kind of performance is rare for Griffin, as he’s done a good job covering opposing number one wide receivers. He should have no trouble bouncing back against the New York Jets in Week 16.
