Here are three studs from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 15 loss.

1. Tyson Campbell, cornerback.

Cornerback Tyson Campell struggled during the preseason and the first weeks of the 2021 regular season. However, the coaching staff never stopped believing in him and their confidence has paid off, as the rookie out of Georgia has become a key cog in the secondary. In Week 15, he snagged his second interception of the year and is currently leading the team.

Campbell told the media after the game that he felt blessed and grateful for registering the interception. He gave up just two receptions on six targets for nine passing yards and was credited with four total tackles and two passes defensed. The best thing about the first-year cornerback is that he’s just scratched the surface and hasn’t reached his ceiling yet.

2. Jaydon Mickens, return specialist.

There was always going to be a drop in production when Jamal Agnew suffered a season-ending hip injury. However, Jaydon Mickens has done a good job of filling in for him and had a 48-yard kickoff return against the Texans. After the return, defensive end Dawuane Smoot got slapped with a questionable penalty for offensive sideline interference.

The Jaguars couldn’t take advantage of the favorable field position and ended up punting. That doesn’t take anything away from Mickens’ return though. He provided a spark when the team needed it. That they couldn’t put it to good use is a different deal.

3. James O’Shaughnessy, tight end.

James O’Shaughnessy had his best day of the season against the Texans, hauling in four receptions for a team-high 60 yards. On one hand, it’s a good thing that the veteran stepped up when the Jaguars needed him. However, it should be a cause of concern that they aren’t getting much production from their wide receiver corps.
