3. Jaguars potential OC candidate in 2022 – Eric Yarber

Imitation is the most sincere of flattery and Sean McVay should be thrilled other NFL teams have tried to recreate the success he’s had as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, as poaching assistants from his coaching staff has become somewhat of a yearly ritual.

This past offseason, the Seattle Seahawks hired Rams’ passing game coordinator Shane Waldron to become their offensive coordinator. Before that, the Cincinnati Bengals hired then-hired quarterback coach Zac Taylor to be their head coach. In the same year (2019), they made Matt LaFleur their head coach.

Eric Yarber, who is currently serving as the Rams’ wide receivers coach could eventually make the leap and should be in consideration for the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator job if Darrell Bevell gets the boot next offseason. During his stint in Los Angeles, Yarber has worked with and mentored Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Van Jefferson.

Yarber became the Rams’ receivers coach in 2017 and has held the same position for UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the San Francisco 49ers among others. The Jaguars haven’t gotten much production from their wide receivers corps in 2021. They need to add playmakers next offseason in either free agency or the draft. But also someone that can help them develop. Why not give Yarber a call?
