Jacksonville Jaguars winners from Week 3 of the preseason.

1. Wide receiver Jeff Cotton

Laviska Shenault Jr. had a pretty impressive touchdown reception but he’s a lock to make the roster. Meanwhile, wide receivers that are on the fringe showed up in the preseason finale and had some pretty good performances. Devin Smith, who joined the team this past Saturday and met head coach Urban Meyer in the pregame meal ahead of the game, hauled in one 45-yard reception. Laquon Treadwell just caught two passes but one went for a touchdown.

Nevertheless, Jeff Cotton was arguably the best of the bunch, tallying three receptions for 66 yards. Quarterback C.J. Beathard found him for a 30-yard touchdown pass that was ultimately reversed. Still, he kept looking for the wide receiver in the next drive. In the end, his performance may not be enough to make the roster but if other teams are in need of a receiver, they might try to claim him off waivers after the final cuts.

2. Running back Devine Ozigbo

The Jaguars have a three-down running back in James Robinson. With rookie Travis Etienne out for the year, Carlos Hyde will probably be the primary backup. It’s unknown if Jacksonville will carry three or four running backs into the season but Devine Ozigbo made a case to stay in Duval, racking up 11 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. Furthermore, he broke off a19-yard run. Here it is, in case you missed it.

3. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence

The Clemson product showed what he can do when he gets enough time to throw the ball. He looked decisive and put the right amount of touch on his passes. Heading into the game, several talking heads wondered if the Jags made a mistake when they drafted Trevor Lawrence first overall. It looks like he proved they made the right decision after going 11-of-12 for 139 yards and two touchdowns at AT&T Stadium.
