1. The Jacksonville Jaguars will trade Gardner Minshew in the draft.

Even though the Jaguars’ brass isn’t interested in trading quarterback Gardner Minshew, other teams have inquired about his availability and Jacksonville could cave if the offer is too good to pass up.

Minshew holds trade value, as he has started 20 games over his two-year career. It’s true he would be a solid backup for Trevor Lawerence, but what if another team offers a third or fourth-round selection? It’s important for every team to have a competent backup but the position can be easily replenished.

The Jags signed C.J. Beathard this offseason and 2020 sixth-round pick Jake Luton could compete for a roster spot. Minshew is currently better than both of them, but Jacksonville could sign a backup off the street, trust either Beathard or Luton, or even draft a developmental prospect.

The Jaguars need to have insurance in case Lawrence has to miss time, but Minshew is not their only option. Also, they need to add as much talent as they can in the draft and any additional selections they can get their hands on will help. Moreover, there’s only room for one nice hairstyle in Jacksonville.
