Morton could take the Jacksonville Jaguars’ WRs to the next level.

It’s true that this Jacksonville team needs the right to oversee their development of their next quarterback, but they also need someone to get the most out of their wide receiver corps. Moreover, they must avoid putting running back James Running back in a position in which he’s going to have a sophomore slump, and former Jaguars alumni  John Morton checks all the boxes.

Morton only spent the 1995 offseason with the Jaguars and never played a game for them. In fact, he tried-out for other teams but never played a down in the NFL. He’s fared better as a coach and has gone on to work for the San Francisco 49ers, the New Orleans Saints, and the New York Jets.

His work with wide receivers stands out, as he helped develop players such as Michael Thomas, and Robby Anderson. Moreover, Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree had 1,000-yard seasons when he was the ‘Niners’ wide receiver coach. Morton is currently a senior offensive assistant for the Las Vegas Raiders and has helped them improve in different offensive categories since he joined the team in 2019. The year before Morton joined the Raiders, they are currently 11 in points scored and 14th in total yards.
