. . Kevin Byard, safety. 2. player. 35.

These two Titans could make things difficult for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Kevin Byard is arguably the Titans’ best player on defense. Although the safety hasn’t played as well as he did in previous seasons, he’s still someone offensive coordinators must account for. This season, he’s played on 98.24 percent of the team’s total snaps on defense and has a 58.7 PFF grade.

All in all, Byard has played in all games this season and has recorded 55 solo tackles, 21 assists, and one forced fumble. He hasn’t registered an interception after snagging 17 the last three seasons.

. . Jeffery Simmons, defensive tackle. 1. player. 35.

The Titans’ defensive line has struggled to generate pressure upfront, but don’t blame Jeffery Simmons. The sophomore defensive tackle has registered the second-most sacks and is responsible for 19 hurries, eight hits, and one forced fumble. Moreover, the former first-round pick is Tennessee’s highest-graded defender heading into Week 14.

If the Jaguars want to run the ball efficiently and keep quarterback Mike Glennon upright, their offensive line will have to account for Simmons in every play. If they are able to neutralize him, they will have an edge.
