4 potential candidates to fill Jacksonville Jaguars GM vacancy
This former general manager could reinvigorate the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This one may be a long shot, but the Jaguars should definitely try reaching Scot McLoughan, who started his scouting career as the understudy of legendary Green Bay Packers general manager Ron Wolf in 1994.
McCloughan left the Packers in 2000 and went on to work for the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Washington Football team in different capacities. He started his own scouting agency in 2015 and has done consulting work for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cleveland Browns in recent years.
Regardless of where he’s been, McCloughan has had success drafting playmakers. In his tenure with the 49ers, he oversaw the selection of players such as All-Pro linebacker Patrick Willis, left tackle Joe Staley, wide receiver Michael Crabtree and guard Mike Iupati.
McCloughan’s time with the Seahawks was no different and helped the team in the process of drafting playmakers such as quarterback Russell Wilson, cornerback Richard Sherman, and safety Kam Chancellor. His tenure in Washington only lasted from 2015 to 2016, but he drafted players such as Pro Bowl guard Brandon Scherff and defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis.
