The Jacksonville Jaguars can address their quarterback situation at last.

While the Jaguars have gotten solid quarterback play at times, they haven’t had a true franchise player at the position in a while. In the last three years, we have seen Blake Bortles, Nick Foles, Gardner Minshew II, and now Jake Luton start games without much success.

This Jacksonville team can put an end to their search for a quarterback and draft Justin Fields with 2021’s second overall pick. The Buckeyes signal-caller has been electrifying and is 72-of-83 for 908 yards and 11 touchdown passes in 2020. If that kind of production can translate into the pro game, he may be too good to pass up.

Although the ‘Jags’ need a franchise quarterback, they don’t have to necessarily draft one with the second overall selection. They could use the first of two first-round selections on a building block and pick a signal-caller such as Kyle Trash with their second one.

Cam Robinson is set to become a free agent in 2021 and will likely command premium compensation. If the Jaguars decide that their soon-to-be free-agent left tackle’s play isn’t proportional to his price tag, they could opt to upgrade the position by selecting Penei Sewell.
