The best free-agent quarterbacks the Jacksonville Jaguars can pursue in 2021.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is the quintessential journeyman quarterback and we don’t mean that as an insult. Wherever ‘FitzMagic’ has played, he’s thrived in spite of his shortcoming. Even though the veteran has a finite ceiling and was never able to join the league’s top echelon, he can win football games more often than not.

Just this season, Fitzpatrick was playing well before the Miami Dolphins took away the keys of their offense and gave them to rookie Tua Tagovailoa. The veteran was rightly mad as he had led the ‘Phins’ to a 3-3 record before they benched him. There’s nothing he can do but wait to hit free agency and once he does, the Jaguars should have him on speed dial.

Things can be sudden in the NFL, and Cam Newton is living proof of that. The former league MVP quickly fell from grace just a few seasons after leading the Carolina Panthers to their second Super Bowl in franchise history. This offseason, the Panthers parted ways with him and the quarterback was one of the last remaining quarterback available in the free-agent market.

Again, his fortunes suddenly change and the New England Patriots came in calling. The ‘Pats’ currently have a 2-5 record but Newton is not the reason for their woes. He still has plenty of gas left in the tank and doing as much as he can without an adequate wide receiver corps.

He signed a one-year deal with New England and it’s uncertain if the team will re-sign him. If they don’t, the Jaguars should make him a priority in free agency. They need a playmaker at quarterback and ‘Cam’ is precisely that.
