Whitney Mercilus #59 celebrates with defensive end J.J. Watt #99 (Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports) /

2. player. 10. . . . Whitney Mercilus, defensive end

These pair of Texans could give the Jacksonville Jaguars O-Line some fits.

The Texans haven’t been able to generate much of a pass rush this year and have registered 16 sacks this year. Although that amount is better than the one the Jaguars have amassed, the team doesn’t have a top-notch pass rush this year. Defensive end Whitney Mercileus hasn’t had the impact he’s had in other seasons, and there are many reasons why that could be happening, but he’s still a player defenses don’t take lightly.

The Jaguars have allowed 22 sacks this season but not all of them fall in their offensive line. Gardner Minshew had a penchant for holding onto the ball too long, so it will be interesting to see how the offensive line fares against Mercilus and the Texans’ pass rush.

10. . . . J.J. Watt, defensive end. 1. player

J.J. Watt has been the face of the franchise and their best defender since the Texans made him a first-round pick in 2011’s draft. Although he has played in just one full season since 2016, the All-Pro defensive end still has plenty of gas in the tank. He’s still the team’s top pass-rusher and has amassed three quarterback takedowns and one forced fumble this season.

It will be interesting to see how Jaguars quarterback Jake Luton handles the Texans pass rush in his first start. Watt and the Texans defense will try to make the rookie as uncomfortable as possible and rattle him at every chance they get.
