Signing Yannick Ngakoue

There is a lot to unpack in the comments Yannick Ngakoue made after the game Sunday night. In his mind, he might believe he is a man on the move after this season.

"“When I first got here, I was considered a third-down rusher. I was counted out. I was the 69th pick; I got passed up by all 32 teams three times. I just tried to improve my run game while also trying to be a better leader for these guys,” he said. “… I have been here for four years and I’ve learned a lot. Business is business and I’m not sure what the future holds.”"

Ngakoue has been one fo the more dynamic players to ever put on a Jaguars uniform and losing him this offseason could be a huge blow for this defense. He is one of the better pass rushers in the NFL, something teams should not move away from.

Look for there to be some movement before Ngakoue becomes a free agent. The Jaguars can also apply the franchise tag to keep him around for another season while a long-term deal is worked out. In either event, Ngakoue should remain a big part of the Jaguars future.
