Philip Rivers will throw an interception: FACT

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been victim to plenty of good quarterbacks for the last several years, but no one has had as much success as Philip Rivers. He’s had essentially no trouble doing whatever he wanted against a hapless Jacksonville defense and he has continued success regardless of who he has at the skill positions.

Things change this year as the Jaguars showed in week 1 that they have a vastly improved defense. Despite the loss, the Jaguars held the best quarterback in the NFL to less than 200 yards passing last week and it would’ve been even less if Rodgers hadn’t made a handful of improbably throws.

The coaches decided to condense the pass rush last week to try and contain Aaron Rodgers, but that won’t be the case this week.

"“I guess this week we get to kind of unleash a little bit,” said defensive end Tyson Alualu, who has lost five games against Rivers. “Last week, a lot of the rushes were trying to make sure that Aaron Rodgers wasn’t escaping the pocket and extending a lot of plays."

With almost no mobility to account for, Rivers is going to do all his damage in the pocket. Consequently, expect the Jaguars to unleash their new rushers and try to get upfield early and often. The increased pressure is going to force Rivers into some mistakes, one of which will be an interception to one of the newcomers in the secondary.
