2) Kyler Fackrell, OLB, Utah State

Assuming the Jacksonville Jaguars miss out on another top linebacker prospect (or two), they would be wise to go after Kyler Fackrell in round three of the 2016 NFL Draft.

More from Black and Teal

Fackrell is more of a rush linebacker who is modeled after Connor Barwin but he is also a guy that makes tons of tackles. If the Jags drafted him he would be a great challenger for Dan Skuta to fend off in the otto role for the Jags defense.

Fackrell is able to be all over the field and will make plenty of plays when called to rush the passer or drop back into coverage. He would be an excellent role player for the Jaguars on defense, filling in as needed. His athleticism is great but he pales in comparison to first-round talents like Jaylon Smith and Myles Jack (both of whom are sliding). The Jags would have to be incredibly worried about their knees if they opted for Fackerell over both of them.

A big drawback with a Fackrell selection, especially in light of Jack and Smith, is that he is also coming back from a knee injury suffered in 2014. He rebounded well in 2015 but if the Jags are really worried about injuries to prospective linebackers, Fackrell’s may give them pause. Still, NFL Mocks’ draft profile has Fackerell becoming a complete player in the right scheme. He’d fit great with the Jags.
