The Jacksonville Jaguars need running back help and in this Jaguars mock draft, they get it. Denard Robinson, Bernard Pierce, Storm Johnson, and Toby Gerhart are big questions for the coming year and the Jaguars need to address the position with a quality player who can either carry the load or help the group out as part of a committee.

Ajayi is a fluid runner whose game should translate well to the NFL. He has excellent footwork and is among the best at his position in this year’s draft class. With 347 carries last season, the Jaguars know they can put the game on his shoulders if need be and he won’t shy away. He boasts averages per rush of over five yards each season at Boise State and has a nose for the end zone with 50 touchdowns in three years (28 during his final season).

The Jaguars need a player who can score from the ground and Ajayi promises to be that guy. He’s got enough talent to slip out of the first round but still be available at the top of the second, where the Jaguars will grab him.

Selecting a running back in the second round will probably set the tone for the running game for the Jaguars going forward. A different direction would be to take the violent running Tevin Coleman, but Ajayi’s ability to carry a team is too good to pass up.
