Revisited predictions for Jaguars 2023 schedule: Week 16 @ Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have most definitely exceeded expectations. You will probably be hard-pressed to find someone who thinks they're elite but they've been better than anticipated. One big reason has been Baker Mayfield's career revival.

When the Browns got rid of Mayfield last year, he spent time with the Carolina Panthers and then the Los Angeles Rams. By the end of the 2022 season, it looked like he was going to enter the journeyman stage of his career but he's done a good job of helping the Bucs transition from the Tom Brady era. The defense has also done their part and ranks seventh in points allowed and 15th in total yards.

This won't be an easy matchup for the Jaguars and nobody should bat an eye if they leave Raymond James Stadium with an L.

Jaguars lose (9-6)

Revisited predictions for Jaguars 2023 schedule: Week 17 vs. Panthers

The Carolina Panthers used the first overall pick in this year's draft on Bryce Young. Although he hasn't been as good as C.J. Stroud, he's progressively gotten better. However, he might need a season or two before he fully hits his stride. Add the lack of weapons in his arsenal, and the Panthers offense isn't something to write about.

The Jaguars have previously lost games they were supposed to win (e.g. Texans in Week 3) but they should be able to take care of business when they host the Panthers in Week 17.

Jaguars win (10-6)

Revisited predictions for the Jaguars 2023 schedule: Week 18 @ Titans

Last season, the AFC South title was at stake in the final and the Titans came close to beating the Jaguars. However, Rayshawn Jenkins forced Josh Dobbs to fumble and Josh Allen proceeded to take it to the house.

This year though, Tennessee doesn't look nearly as competitive as they were in 2022. They have lots of issues, including (but not limited) to the offensive line and quarterback, and it's hard to see them making a run for the division crown late in the season. No road game is easy but the Jaguars should be able to go to Nissan Stadium and beat their AFC South foes to ensure they're the top seed in the division.
