The Jacksonville Jaguars play in the AFC South which had a bad reputation coming into the season. The Jags were supposed to win this division with ease and they still might. However, there have been some good performances from the rest of the teams up to this point.

One of the teams that looks like they can challenge the Jags is the Indianapolis Colts., They played each other twice already and the Jags won both but they are still separated by just one game in the standings.

Unfortunately, from a football fan's point of view, there is a new bit of injury news that is going to change the outlook of the season. Colts rookie quarterback, Anthony Richardson, is going to miss the entire rest of the season because of an injury.

He is going to have surgery to repair the AC joint on his throwing shoulder. Obviously, that is big as he is going to have to rehab a very important part of his body when it comes to playing the position of quarterback.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to see a change in the AFC South.

Richardson was having a very promising rookie season after coming in from Florida as the number four overall pick. He just couldn't stay totally healthy this year which has now limited him to only a handful of games.

We can only hope that he gets back better than ever next year. Jaguars fans want to beat the Colts but it is so much more fun beating teams at their best. The Colts are not at their best without Richardson under center.

Now, former Jaguars QB Gardner Minshew is going to be the guy. As long as he is healthy, this is his team. He hasn't been amazing in Richardson's spot so he is going to have to make some adjustments.

It is on the Jaguars to now take full advantage of this though. They can pull away with the division and win it for the second year in a row. Hosting a playoff game is a good thing and something they can use to their benefit in the playoffs.

They are in a spot now where they can just worry about themselves this year and the AFC South standings will work out in their favor.
