The Jacksonville Jaguars are hoping to be an elite NFL team this season. That is certainly possible after seeing how things went last year.

Now that they are the hunted rather than being the hunter, it will be a tad bit more difficult but they can handle it. Everything is finally coming together for this franchise.

One of the reasons for that is the quarterback, Trevor Lawrence. He showed in 2022 that he was the number one pick in the draft for a reason. Big things are on the horizon for him.

In fact, he could be a dark horse candidate to win MVP this season. If he does all of these things, he could very well win it:

1. Pass for 4500+ yards

The Jaguars would love to see Trevor Lawrence throw this many yards.

It would be even better if he could throw for 5000 yards but aiming for 4500 is a good start this year. He had 4100 in 2022 so taking another step would be reaching this new milestone.

If he throws for that many yards, he should be amongst the league leaders which is a great way to be in the MVP conversation.

Lawrence can absolutely reach that number because of the fact that he is very good and has tons of weapons at his disposal. There is a trio of good wide receivers, an outstanding tight end, and a great running game to support him.

Accumulating tons of yards really shouldn’t be all that hard for the man under center that wears 16. He is going to be able to get it done all season long.
