Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 potential trade destinations for Walker Little before free agency
1. Miami Dolphins
If you're keeping track, this list is encompassed by clubs with a dependable left tackle but may need to look for a long-term replacement soon. The Miami Dolphins are no different. Just a couple years ago, they paid top-market money for Terron Armstead, and it's easy to see why. Even when you take into account that the five-time Pro Bowl nod has never played a full season, he's one of the best in the business.
Even last year, Armstead allowed six total pressures and one sack. On top of that, he registered a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 80.9. Granted, he only appeared in 10 games but it's still a relatively low amount. Having said that, he's no spring chicken, so nobody batted an eye when he entertained the idea of hanging up the cleats after the conclusion of the 2023 season.
While Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniels says he's letting Armstead take his time to make a decision, Miami needs to know what he plans to do sooner rather than later because if he's still on the roster by March 15, he'll trigger $5 million in guarantees on his deal. Conversely, they could free up around $9 million in cap space with $11.5 million in dead money if they release him with $11.5 million in dead money.
For the sake of argument, let's say the Dolphins do move on from Armstead. It does seem like a realistic outcome but they'll probably do it only if they have a plan in place. They could move right tackle Austin Jackson to the left side.... or they could give the Jaguars a call and trade for Walker Little.
