No. 1 Jacksonville Jaguars player with a new team: Arden key, DE (Titans)

Defensive end Arden Key is proof that no process is linear and sometimes players need to land in the right situation to hit their stride. A third-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2018 NFL Draft, Key was expected to join a pass rush rotation that included Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin but instead was pressed into a starting role when he wasn't necessarily ready.

Following the trade of Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears, Key ended up appearing in all 16 games with 10 starts but only mustered one sack. His playing time would decrease the next two seasons. By 2021, the Raiders had seen enough of Key and moved up from him. The San Francisco 49ers quickly swooped in to claim him, and he went on to have a breakout season, posting a career-best 6.5 sacks.

Once he became a free agent in 2022, Key chose the Jaguars over the Chiefs because of the challenge of turning things around. The Georgia native picked up where he left off the year prior and went on to register 4.5 sacks in Jacksonville. Moreover, his ability to move around the line of scrimmage helped defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell deploy him in different ways to find favorable matchups.

Looking for a bigger role, one he wasn't going to get in Jacksonville, Arden Key signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency. While he's only had 2.5 sacks this season, he's consistently bringing the heat. Then again, his production might be better had he stayed with the Jaguars and remained in their pass-rush rotation alongside Josh Allen and Travon Walker.
