Everything in the NFL went the Jacksonville Jaguars' way in Week 1
The Jacksonville Jaguars had a huge start to their NFL season in the year 2023. It wasn’t easy early in the game, but they found a way to get it done in the end.
They got incredible contributions on offense and the defense was good enough in the end for them to get it done.
Based on the roster that I have, there is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming season. The AFC is very good but they have a roster good enough where they can just worry about themselves.
In addition to winning, everything in the NFL went well for the Jaguars in week one. They could not have asked for a better week result-wise.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a good spot after week one of the season.
The team they defeated was a division rival in the Indianapolis Colts. The Houston Texans also lost to the Baltimore Ravens and the Tennessee Titans lost to the Miami Dolphins. That means the Jaguars were the only team in the AFC South to start 1-0.
You kind of have to get lucky to have sole possession of first place after week one. That happened to the Jaguars this week. It is a weak division but nothing is truly easy in the National Football League.
The thing is, the Jaguars didn't only get lucky with the teams in their division losing. They were one of four first-place AFC teams last year. The others were the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills, and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Remarkably, all of those teams lost as well. They are all going to bounce back at some point but it is good to get going early. You always want to see your team feeling good about themselves as opposed to their opponents all year long.
Even the New York Jets are in trouble because Aaron Rodgers is out for the season with an injury. That is another AFC probably out of it.
There’s no reason that the Jaguars shouldn’t have their eyes set on the number one seed in the AFC. I’ll start like this in week one is a great way to begin that quest. Again, it is nice to get a little lucky but it is even better to be lucky and good at the same time.
Now, just because the Jaguars have the inside track after week one that doesn’t mean that there are not 16 games left for every team in the league. No point is any of this going to be easy.
The Jaguars will learn that quickly when they head home for their home opener this week and their opponent is the Kansas City Chiefs who lost in week one.
They are going to get a version of the Chiefs that are angry and ready to win. That is not a fun combination when it is the Chiefs on the other side.
Coming in this felt like it could be a great season for the Jaguars and it is off to a good start. Hopefully, they can keep the good vibes going.
