No. 1 Jaguars player who benefits from coaching continuity: Trevor Lawrence, QB

Trevor Lawrence was a freshman at Clemson when he got the generational talent label. That same year, the Tiger won the CFP Championship Game, which only increased the hype around him. Even though Lawrence wasn't able to win the college championship again, he was dubbed the most talented quarterback prospect to enter the draft since Andrew Luck in 2012.

Having secured the No. 1 overall selection in the draft, the Jags didn't think twice before picking Lawrence. But as gifted as he was, the Tennessee native didn't know what was in store for him and the rest of the Jaguars organization in 2021. See, Jacksonville brought in Urban Meyer as their head coach, and from the moment he got hired, he showed he wasn't up to the task.

Meyer spent most of his stint fostering a toxic culture and Lawrence was one of the players that was severely affected, as Meyer and his staff clashed about the best way to develop the young passer. Once Meyer was gone, the organization made it their priority to hire a head coach that would get the most out of Lawrence. Enter Doug Pederson.

Pederson, known for his ability to unlock their quarterbacks' potential, had to start over with Lawrence but the work paid off as he made huge strides in Year 2. By the end of the 2022 season, the signal-caller had cut down on his number of mistakes and was playing at an absurdly high level. Heading into the 2023 season,

Lawrence is expected to get even better and that's reasonable because he will enter his second season in Pederson's system. Also, getting Calvin Ridley won't hurt but the point is that Steezy Trev will benefit greatly from having Pederson as his head coach.
