The Jacksonville Jaguars will tentatively be at full strength when they play the Cleveland Browns in the season opener. Specifically, they could get wide receivers Brian Thomas Jr. and Jakobi Meyers in time for the game after both were dealt with injuries during the preseason.
Although the injuries didn't appear serious, they raised questions about Thomas' and Meyers' availability for the season opener. However, head coach Liam Coen just dropped an update that will ease concerns.
Jaguars just offered injury updates on Brian Thomas Jr. and Jakobi Meyers
Liam Coen met with the local media a few days after the roster cutdown deadline. He provided injury updates on Brian Thomas Jr. and Jakobi Meyers, noting that the former is 100 percent and the latter is practicing, albeit in a limited capacity.
"They'll be good. Jakobi should be going today, went yesterday," Coen told reporters (6:07 mark). "He was just limited in terms of catching it a little bit. And then, BT was a full go yesterday, no issues."
Thomas landed on his shoulder in practice during training camp. He was held out afterwards. On the other hand, Meyers was seen wearing a cast in Week 2 of the preseason. He didn't suit up for any of the three games, so he must've gotten hurt in practice.
As of this writing, the preseason is 11 weeks away. Barring a setback, that should be more than enough time for Jakobi Meyers to be healthier.

Jakobi Meyers is an integral piece of the Jaguars offense
Whereas Brian Thomas Jr. will be ready to go, Jakobi Meyers' status for Week 1 of the regular season will be worth monitoring. An undrafted free agent in 2019, Meyers spent four seasons with the New England Patriots before signing a three-year deal worth $33 million with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023.
The former North Carolina State Wolfpack was entering the last year of his deal in 2025 and wanted an extension. Once he saw that the Raiders weren't going to give him a new deal, he requested a trade. Meyers was ultimately shipped to the Jags at the deadline and went on to have an immediate impact, hauling in 42 receptions for 483 yards with three touchdowns in nine games with seven starts.
Meyers is now entering his second season in Duval. Unlike last year, though, he spent the offseason with the Jaguars, so he should be able to have a bigger impact on offense. In case the Lithonia, Georgia native weren't ready for the season opener, Jacksonville could try to fill the void with rookies Josh Cameron and CJ Williams.
Both Cameron and Williams flashed during training camp and saw an uptick in reps when Meyers wasn't available.
Brian Thomas Jr.'s availability for the season opener isn't in doubt, and it looks like the Jaguars will also get Jakobi Meyers for the Browns game. But if he isn't, they have the depth to overcome his potential absence.
