After an impressive first season as their offensive coordinator, the Jacksonville Jaguars knew that Grant Udinski could leave in this hiring cycle. Highly regarded across league circles, he garnered interest for the head-coach vacancies with the Cleveland Browns and the Buffalo Bills. However, a recent scoop has brought plenty of clarity to his future.
After interviewing with the Browns for the second time, Udinski withdrew his name from consideration. Not long after, the Jags gave him a raise, knowing that he was still in play for the Buffalo vacancy. They now know he isn't going anywhere (at least in 2026).
Joe Brady is the Bills head coach, the Jaguars are keeping Grant Undiski
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bills' search for a head coach has come to an end, noting that offensive coordinator Joe Brady will get promoted.
Other candidates for the job included Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll, Washington Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn, and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. Former NFL quarterback Phillip Rivers was also in the mix before he pulled his name from consideration.
The Bills dismissed head coach Sean McDermott after the loss to the Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs. The fact that they promoted general manager Brandon Beane to vicepresident of football operations despite the fact that he's failed to put together a competitive roster made their opening seem unappealing.
Either way, Buffalo has a new head coach, one with a strong rapport with quarterback Josh Allen, and that's great news for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars get to keep Grant Udinski, Anthony Campanile's future is still up in the air
Grant Udinski just turned 30 but is already seen as an ascending star in NFL circles. He's been coaching in the pros for just six seasons, and his first year as an offensive coordinator was a resounding success. When you add it all up, it's not surprising to see that he's already drawing interest for head-coaching jobs despite the fact that he didn't call plays in Jacksonville.
With the Bills choosing Joe Brady as their next head coach, though, the Jags no longer have to worry about Udinski leaving. With him around, they had put together one of the top offenses in the NFL, and Trevor Lawrence enjoyed a career revival. Having him around will ensure that they can pick up where they left off.
Having said that, defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile is still in the mix for the opening with the Arizona Cardinals, so head coach Liam Coen could still see one of his top lieutenants leave in this hiring cycle.
After the latest Joe Brady scoop, it's clear that the Jaguars will get to keep the band together (at least on offense). Couple that with the addition of Brian Picucci to the staff, and it's easy to picture them building off of their impressive 2025.
