At just 30 years old, Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski is making waves around the NFL and appears to be a stud head coach in the making. Ever since the Los Angeles Rams hired Sean McVay way back in 2017, teams have tried to find the next McVay by taking chances on young, offensive-minded coaches.
The Jags did this to a degree by bringing in Liam Coen, who coached under McVay. Thus far, the returns have been incredible, as the team won a whopping 13 games in the regular season, won the AFC South, and appear to be trending toward Super Bowl contender status in 2026.
Udinski was brought along in the process and is the offensive coordinator, but the Jags' offensive success in 2025 brought some attention to Udinski by other teams. It does feel like a matter of when with Udinski getting a head coaching job, but after some major news on Monday, that might wait another season.
Grant Udinski is trending toward being back with the Jacksonville Jaguars for at least one more season
Grant Udinski removed his name from the Cleveland Browns head coaching search, and he's not the first one to do that this cycle:

Udinski began coaching in the NFL in 2020 and has held roles with the Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings, and now Jaguars. He was a collegiate defensive end and just turned 30 years old in January.
With the news that Udinski is out of the running, the Jaguars took another step to keep him with the team, bumping his pay for the coming season. If the Jaguars do indeed have another strong season on the offensive side of the ball, Grant Udinski could get more interviews for the 2027 cycle.
I would also have to guess that there is no rush on his part to land the first head coaching job he could get, as the Cleveland Browns are a bit of a mess, and there could be a ton of value in coaching for another season under Liam Coen.
With a ton of youth still on his side, Grant Udinski is clearly playing the long game with this eventual jump to a head coach role in the NFL. All in all, given the Browns situation, it's not a shock that he withdrew his name, but there does appear to be a chance that he could get offered the Buffalo Bills head coaching job.
