The Jacksonville Jaguars are counting on several prominent players to either take the next step or bounce back next season. Trevor Lawrence and wide receiver Parker Washington fit the first category. Defensive end Travon Walker and wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. fall in the latter. The expectation is that all of them will pull it off. However, a handful of lesser-mentioned players will also need to make a strong impression in training camp.
See, the Jags will give everyone a fair chance to compete in training camp, but a handful of players will need to truly stand out to have a shot at earning a roster spot or landing in the practice squad.
With this in mind, here are six lesser-known Jaguars who need a strong training camp to stick around in 2026.
Keni-H Lovely, Jaguars cornerback
The Jaguars signed Keni-H Lovely before the 2025 season. He didn't earn a roster spot but landed in the practice squad. The Boynton Beach, Florida native signed a future/reserve contract early in 2026 and seemed positioned to compete for a job, at least until Jacksonville signed undrafted free agents Davon Marshall and Preston Hodge.
With the ascending Jabbar Muhammad also in the mix, Keni-H Lovely is a long shot to make the roster but could also have trouble landing in the practice squad if Christian Braswell lands there.
DeeJay Dallas, Jaguars running back
When Bhayshul Tuten suffered a finger injury late in 2025, the Jags acted fast to sign DeeJay Dallas. Right off the bat, the former Seattle Seahawks proved to be a valuable contributor, which is why Jacksonville gave him a new deal early in 2026. However, his odds of making the roster just took a dip with undrafted rookie J'Mari Taylor turning heads at OTAs.
Compounding the issue is that the Jags added veteran Ameer Abdullah to their backfield, so Dallas will also have to fend him off to have a shot at staying in Duval next season.
Chandler Brayboy, Jaguars receiver
The Jaguars signed two undrafted free agents in 2025, Danny Striggow and B.J. Green II, who ended up making their initial 53-man roster. Another one, Jabbar Muhammad, has a legitimate chance to make the team next season after spending his rookie season on the practice squad.
That said, it isn't often brought up that wide receiver Chandler Brayboy also spent his rookie season in the practice squad. The former Elon standout signed a reserve contract in 2026 but has been lost in the shuffle after the arrival of rookies CJ Williams and Josh Cameron.
With Austin Tremmell also vying for a spot in the practice squad, Brayboy could be a victim of the numbers game.
Trystan Colon, Jaguars offensive lineman
The Jaguars signed Trystan Colon after waiving Sal Wormley. DiGorgio has spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, the Detroit Lions, and the Arizona Cardinals, appearing in 69 games with 19 starts dating back to 2020. His experience could come in handy and give him an edge in training camp.
However, Colon may have an uphill battle to make the roster. He would need to outplay Chuma Edoga and probably showcase the versatility to line up at different spots on the offensive line. If he does, he may have a chance but currently looks like a candidate for the practice squad.
Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig, Jaguars safety
The Jaguars signed Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig as an undrafted free agent. In Jacksonville, he joined former Colorado teammates B.J. Green II and Travis Hunter. But unlike them, Silmon-Craig didn't make the team and instead ended up in the practice squad.
Silmon-Craig is part of a crowded safety room, so barring anything unexpected, he's a bet to land in the practice squad for the second year in a row.
Joey Aguilar, Jaguars cornerback
While Trevor Lawrence is firmly entrenched at quarterback, Nick Mullens is QB2 on the depth chart. Carter Bradley could eventually replace him, but it's hard to see the Jaguars carrying three signal-callers into the regular season, so he'll probably sign to the practice squad. That will put undrafted rookie Joey Aguilar under pressure to deliver.
Aguilar has been on and off throughout the offseason program but could lock a spot on the practice squad with a strong showing in training camp. It remains to be seen whether he'll pull it off.
