1. The Jacskonville Jaguars trade DaVon Hamilton, pick for Darius Slay

The Eagles had a stout defensive front last year but the group could undergo important changes this offseason. Defensive lineman Javon Hargrave is coming off a career year and will be in high demand in free agency, so it’s hard to see him returning to Philly. To complicate matters, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox is also slated to hit the open market.

Even though the Eagles brought back Brandon Graham on a one-year deal, he isn’t getting any younger and it would be a good idea to replenish the trenches. One way to do so would be to trade for Jaguars defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton.

A third-round pick in 2020, Hamilton joined the starting lineup in Week 6 of his rookie year and quickly became a mainstay of the Jaguars season. Unfortunately, a knee injury cut his season short.

Hamilton bounced back in 2021 and picked up where he left off. Although he didn’t put up eye-popping numbers, he became an important piece in the Jaguars’ defensive line rotation, logging ten total pressures, solid numbers for a player whose main task is to take on blocks and clog up running lanes.

The former Ohio State Buckeye followed a solid sophomore campaign with an even better 2022. He more than double his pressure totals and registered a career-high 2.5 sacks. He also posted a Pro Football Focus grade of 74.9 and made their  2023 list of top 25 interior defenders.

While Hamilton has played a crucial role for the Jags the last three seasons, he’s entering a contract year and if the front office doesn’t think he figures on their future plans, they could then trade him and a fifth-round pick in exchange for Slay.
