4. Jaguars LB Chad Muma will get his 1st turnover in the NFL vs. the Lions

The Jags raised eyebrows when they used a third-round pick on linebacker Chad Muma in this year’s draft despite the fact that they had taken Devin Lloyd with the 27th overall pick and had signed Foyesade Oluokun in free agency.

Given Lloyd’s success early in the 2022 season and Oluokun’s status as a team captain, it was hard to see Muma getting playing time on defense this year. But Lloyd’s recent struggles led the coaching staff to go with Muma, who made his first NFL start against the Ravens.

The former Wyoming Cowboy played 72 defensive snaps (100 percent) and logged nine total tackles. Following the game, Muma got praised by Jaguars defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell, who thinks he did a good job, “he calmed everything down at times“.

Muma should grow more comfortable in his new role in the upcoming weeks, which will in turn lead to more plays. Don’t be surprised if he records the first forced fumble of his young NFL career against the Lions.

3. Jaguars WR Zay Jones will have 2nd straight 100-yard game vs. the Lions

Wide receiver Zay Jones had a career game against the Ravens, hauling in 11 receptions for 145 yards. Moreover, he caught the two-point conversion that helped the Jaguars beat the Ravens. The former East Carolina Pirate hasn’t been a non-factor at times this season but games like the ones against Baltimore show Jacksonville gave him a three-year deal worth $24 million in free agency.

Jones has only one 100-yard season but he should be able to get his second one and reach the end zone against a Lions’ defense that ranks 29th in passing yards allowed.
