No. 2 Jaguars player to watch vs. the Ravens: Josh Allen, OLB

One look at social media will show you that outside linebacker Josh Allen has become somewhat of a polarizing figure among Jaguars fans. Is the former Kentucky Wildcat elite? Is he even the best pass rusher on the team? Regardless of which side of the debate you find yourself in, one thing is clear: He must step up his game against the Ravens.

Even though Allen is tallying pressures at a high rate, he’s not making enough big plays. He has 3.0 sacks and two forced fumbles for the season. While those aren’t bad numbers, fellow edge rusher Dawuane Smoot has registered five sacks and one forced fumble on fewer snaps.

Allen will need to contain the perimeter, pressure Lamar Jackson and limit his ability to take off.

No. 1 Jaguars player to watch vs. the Ravens: Trevor Lawrence, QB

Even though the Jaguars didn’t take the field in Week 11, Trevor Lawrence made the news for his ability to deal with adversity and how he handles losing. This calm demeanor and maturity came to light when fellow sophomore quarterback Zach Wilson failed to take accountability for his poor performance against the New England Patriots.

Lawrence met with the local media and credited his family and coaches for teaching him to stand up and take ownership:

“When it comes to coming up here [the podium] after the game, where I don’t play well or whatever it is where we lose, at the end of the day, even if I do play well and we lose, we still didn’t get it done. There’s always things that you can do better”, Lawrence said.

Even though the Jags lost to the Chiefs in Week 10, Lawrence had a solid outing — 72.5 percent completion rate, two touchdowns, and no interceptions — and has been efficient in two straight games. He will need to make it three in a row in Jacksonville wants to pull off the upset against the Ravens.
