No. 2 Jaguars player who must shine vs. the Broncos: Trevor Lawrence, QB

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence seemingly makes this list every week but more often than not, it’s for different reasons. After experiencing a rough two-game stretch, the former Clemson Tiger has bounced back nicely and has had a couple of solid outings.

Against the Indianapolis Colts, Lawrence completed over 90 percent of his passes and didn’t turn the ball over once. Similarly, he played well against the New York Giants and came up one yard short of pulling off a comeback. The No. 1 overall pick in 2021 can’t afford to regress in London and must outplay fellow quarterback Russell Wilson if the Jaguars want to come back home with a win.

The fact that the Broncos have one of the best defenses in the NFL won’t make it any easy. However, Lawrence has made strides and is talented enough to lead the Jags to victory.

No. 1 Jaguars player who must shine vs. the Broncos: Travis Etienne

It’s now the Travis Etienne show in Jacksonville and looking back, it’s easy to understand why the Jags dealt James Robinson, even if it wasn’t a popular move among fans. The former Clemson Tiger has seen an uptick in playing time in the last four weeks, averaging 10 carries per game and more than seven yards per rush.

Despite the fact that the Jags acquired Etienne before Doug Pederson was their head coach, he might be a better fit on offense than Robinson. Firmly entrenched as the No. 1 running back on the depth chart, the 25th overall pick in the 2021 draft will have a tough matchup in London. Denver’s defense ranks 15th against the run and seventh in rushing touchdowns allowed.

If Etienne showcases his ability to make big plays against the Broncos, the Jags’ chances of winning will increase considerably.
