No. 2 Jaguars player that could be traded: Jawaan Taylor, RT

Right tackle Jawaan Taylor entered the 2022 season on the hot seat, at least from an outside perspective. But he’s turned the corner and is having a career year. Although he struggled to contain Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick in Week 4, he’s performed well in every other game.

On 230 pass-blocking snaps this season, the former Florida Gator has given up two sacks — and those came against Reddick — and seven total pressures. Moreover, he’s only been flagged once!

A second-round selection in the 2019 draft, Taylor showed promise in his rookie season but struggled in pass protection and committed penalties at an alarming rate the past two seasons. By his own admission, having to fend off sophomore Walker Little in training camp helped him get better but the main reason for his improvement was the passing of his father.

Taylor is set to become a free agent next offseason and the Jaguars will be working with a tight budget, so they might have a hard time putting enough money aside to bring Taylor back. For that reason, it would make sense to shop him, get something in return and plug Little at right tackle.

Sure, Little lost the training camp battle but this is his first season lining up on the right side after playing left tackle for most of his football career. With more experience, he should get better, which should make the Jaguars feel comfortable about trading Taylor.
